Anti Virus Virobac

VIROBAC SEALER.

The worlds first permanent solution against germs on hospital floors

cost-saving – efficient – sustainable

Special waterbased 3 part polyurethane lacquer. Permanent surface finish for the long-term protection of floors. Has an antibacterial (tested based on EN 13697) and antiviral (tested based on EN 16777) effect. For use after installation or renovation of floor coverings. For healthcare applications. Suitable for areas subject to heavy wear and mechanical stress.

Infections caused by multi-resistant germs are among the most common causes of death in the healthcare sector. According to a study by the Charité Berlin and the Jena University Hospital, the greatest danger to their formation lies on the ground. A new type of coating kills bacteria and viruses through oxidation and puts a stop to the colonisation of germs.

Biggest source of danger: According to studies, the resistance genes found on the soil accumulate over time. A new PU seal is intended to prevent this.

According to the WHO Report 2022, around 600,000 patients in Germany contract hospital germs every year and around 30,000 die from them. A joint study by the Jena University Hospital and the Charité Berlin was intended to determine where the greatest dangers to patients from multi-resistant germs lie.

Singlet oxygen is a powerful oxidant that binds to many organic surfaces. This highly reactive form of oxygen damages cell components, especially lipids, and thus kills bacteria and viruses on surfaces. At the same time, conventional biocides with their harmful side effects on room air and patients are dispensed. VIROBAC is the only floor coating of this kind with certified effectiveness.

Activation of the antimicrobial effect by visible room light and oxygen destroys the cell walls of the germs and kills them.

Antibacterial (> 99% against multi-resistant germs)  Virucidal  Permanently effective - even when dry. Has a long-lasting effect - tests show the effectiveness even after 5 years+  Sustainable, because germs do not develop resistance  Harmless to health, because no toxic biocides and nonanoparticle release  Resistant to all common cleaning agents and disinfectants Minimising maintenance cost because no additional caremeasures are necessary   Universally applicable on all floors - new and existing floors  Can be renovated at any time  Floors are easy to clean and hermetically sealed(DIN 13063 German Hospital Norm)

The research team around Dr. Hortense Slevogt and Dr. Tilman Klassert (University of Jena) and Dr. David Leistner (Charité Berlin) examined germ colonisation in patient rooms over 30 weeks and found that the floor was the greatest source of danger. Lead author Tilman Klassert states: "While there were only a few positive findings on door handles and in sinks, the resistance genes found on the floor accumulated over time - despite regular surface disinfection."
